OSD Community Program mission is to provide a link between the school, families, and the community.
The Oregon School for the Deaf serves as a statewide educational resource center on deafness providing outreach and resource services to Oregon's deaf and hard of hearing students, parents, families, and professionals working to meet the needs of persons throughout the state who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Family Resources and Services
Oregon School for the Deaf hosts the OSD Parent Resource page on Facebook, and the monthly FACTS night (Families Connecting with the School). If you "like" us on Facebook, you'll see the flyers to advertise our events open to families as well as events open to the public. Individualized tours are provided to families interested in placing their children at OSD - just call the school and they will help you schedule an appointment.
We have a Facebook group - OSD Parent Resource Facebook Group - If you are a parent and have a Facebook account, please feel free to join the group. The moderator posts activities of interest for families with a Deaf child.
Use of Campus Facilities
OSD opens its campus to the community (youth groups, sports programs, deaf community groups, universities, educational programs, theater and arts groups, and corporate partners) and to the state for business and recreational purposes. If you have the desire to rent part of our campus for an event, please call the school and fill out a facility usage form.
