Requirements

​An architectural firm may apply for reinstatement if the firm’s Certificate of Registration has been inactive for five years or less. If it’s been over 5 years, reapply via the Architectural Firm Application.​

Process

Application checklist

  • Complete the application. See OAR 806-010-0060 for requirements.
  • Include a copy of your firm’s Certificate of Existence issued by the Oregon Secretary of State. The Secretary of State’s website for business registry is https://sos.oregon.gov/business/Pages/obr-welcome.aspx. The firm name on the Certificate of Existence must match the name of the business being used in Oregon, which must meet the requirements listed in OAR 806-010-0080.
  • Pay the $100 Architectural Firm Reinstatement Application fee ONLINE or mail a check with your application. Make checks payable to Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE).
  • Pay the $400 Architectural Firm Certificate of Registration Reinstatement fee ONLINE or mail a check to the address below. Make checks payable to Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE).
  • Send the completed application and attachments to architectboard@osbae.oregon.gov or to the address listed below. Keep a copy of the application for your records. Applications are valid for 12 months from the date received by the Board.

Ot​her instructions

  • If you answer Yes to question 1, 2, 3, or 4 regarding discipline, previous criminal charges, practice, or the provision of architectural services as a firm prior to application, you must provide additional information.
  • Statutes and Administrative Rules governing the practice of architecture and the provision of architectural services as a firm in Oregon can be viewed ONLINE. The rules contain detailed information regarding acceptable firm names and requirements for a certificate of registration for an architectural firm in Oregon.
  • Individual architects must also be registered with the Board. The application can be found ONLINE.
  • The email address you enter on this application will be used for all communication from OSBAE.

  • Provide proof of satisfying the continuing education requirements of OAR 806-010-0145.
  • Pay the $100 Individual Architect Reinstatement Application fee ONLINE or mail a check with your application. Make checks payable to Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE).
  • Pay the $400 Individual Architect Certificate of Registration Reinstatement fee ONLINE or mail a check to the address below. Make checks payable to the Oregon State Board of Architect Examiners (OSBAE).
  • Send the completed application and attachments to architectboard@osbae.oregon.gov or the street address listed below. Keep a copy of the application for your records. Applications are valid for 12 months from the date received by the Board.
