A discrepancy between the description of the boundary for the city of Maupin was discovered when a proposed development in the Lower Deschutes State Scenic Waterway corridor raised a question regarding the statutory boundary of the Deschutes River State Scenic Waterway as it relates to the city of Maupin. The rule, adopted in 1972, references the boundary for the city from 1970. A law later adopted in 1987 references a boundary from 1977. The proposed rule change corrects this issue.
