Commission and Advisory Committee Roles

Citizens, recreation enthusiasts, industry and heritage partners serve on committees that advise the department on the activities of agency programs. Their roles and conversations are important to the direction of recreation and heritage in Oregon. 

Members of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission and the Oregon Heritage Commission are appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Oregon Senate. The Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission or the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department director appoints members to advisory committees as described in Oregon Revised Statutes or Oregon Administrative Rules for each committee.
