Day Use Parking Permit Out-of-State Surcharge

Rule Public Comment Clip.png

Background

Proposed rule change would expand the recently adopted 25% out-of-state surcharge to day use parking permit fees.

Beginning July 1, 2025, an out-of-state surcharge will be added to all campsites, group facility rentals and building as a result of rule change approved earlier this year. This proposed rule change will allow the agency to fairly and consistently implement the new surcharge.
In addition, the proposed rule change would eliminate sales of new 24-month passes beginning in 2026. Existing passes would be honored until they expire. The 12-month annual pass will continue to be sold. This change will allow the agency to more effectively track revenue and budget for parks.

Public Comment Period: OPEN

The public comment period for this rule will be from April 1st at 8:00 am through April 30th at 5:00 pm.
