OPDC Job Opportunities


​The Information Technology Service Management Specialist will provide daily organization, management, and triage of IT requests, incidents, and changes. Additional responsibilities include IT Asset Management and desktop support. This position will support OPDC staff Information Technology Service Management (ITSM). They will also support OPDC staff Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM). The person in this position will provide desktop support to cover increases in staff and additional locations. They will also coordinate office-wide software and hardware updates including troubleshooting system issues.

The Trial Division is made up of Public Defenders who provide court appointed legal representation and advocacy to indigent clients who are charged with criminal offenses in the circuit courts in the State of Oregon. Public Defender attorneys are expected to represent clients from arraignment through filing of post-trial motions. There will also be occasional pre-indictment representations. Case types will include misdemeanors, lesser and major felonies, serious sexual offenses, murder prosecutions, and occasionally initial commitment proceedings. There is also an expectation that Public Defenders will act as informal mentors and advisers to other staff attorneys in the office as they gain experience.

Conduct a pre-audit examination of the OPDC's public defense expenditures to ensure that the appropriate OPDS policies and procedures, state and federal laws have been applied prior to the disbursement of available funds

​These positions will aid attorneys, paralegals, and investigators in the preparation of legal documents, calendaring, records maintenance, researching legal information, docketing, case management and timekeeping, office management and coordination with clients, courts and other public safety persons or entities relevant to the legal representation of the client.

​Deputy Defenders in the Trial Division are Public Defenders who provide court appointed legal representation and advocacy to indigent clients who are charged with criminal offenses in the circuit courts in the State of Oregon. Deputy Defender attorneys are expected to represent clients from arraignment through filing of post-trial motions. There may also be occasional pre-indictment representations. Case types will include probation violations, misdemeanors and contempt charges, lesser and major felonies, extradition proceedings, and other adjudications that are directly related to these matters.

​These positions will provide receptionist service and general office duties through typical office clerical and related tasks, utilizing multiple line telephones, computers, and standard office equipment.

​The Case Manager will provide wraparound services to Trial Division clients. These positions will meet in person with adults in custody and out of custody daily to identify risks, needs, housing options, and support systems. For adults in custody, these positions will work with attorneys to develop a release plan, then continue to meet with clients regularly to make sure all potential resources are made available to each client. These positions will respond to client and attorney requests, as well as inquiries by family members.
