How the Data is Organized

Oregon Tracking's data portal hosts a variety of data organized into three categories: Environmental Quality, Health Outcomes, and People and Community Design. These categories are further divided into topic areas with indicators and measures.


What are the categories?

What are the topic areas?

Community design, demographics, air, water, acute, chronic and reproductive and birth outcomes.


What is an indicator?

An indicator refers to a specific issue or problem within a topic area that provides information about a population's health status.


What is a measure?

A measure is a standardized summary statistic that describes the indicator. It can be a sum, percentage, ratio, rate, or proportion. For example, number of hospitalizations is a measure of asthma.
