OHA relies on water sampling data provided by our partners.
Some partners have decided to reduce or eliminate identification and water sampling of blooms which will affect some of the popular lakes and reservoirs where advisories may have been issued in the past. In these cases, waterbody managers may place permanent signs at well used access points for outreach and educational purposes, and you will no longer see the familiar green and gold OHA signage.
OHA will encourage our partners to continue monitoring and sampling, and to submit water quality data. Without this data, staff are unable to advise the public about blooms or make recommendations regarding recreational activities.
