Expedited admissions process for Oregon State Hospital

Oregon State Hospital has an expedited admissions process for both people under civil and forensic commitments.

• Expedited admissions proctocol - Civil
  (civilly committed or admitted voluntarily by guardian or health care representative)

• Order allowing Civil and VBA expedited admissions 
  

• Expedited Admissions Process - Forensic
  (GEI, aid and assist or "Extremely Dangerous Person" commitment - ORS 161.327, 161.365, 161.370 or 426.701)
  

The new process for people under civil commitment provides acute care hospitals the opportunity to request review when there are special circumstances due to an individual's dangerousness to others. The process allowing jails to request review for people under forensic commitment continues to focus on special circumstances due to an individual's risk of harm to self.
