OHA Announces Inaugural Committee Members
Oregon Health Authority (OHA) received 82 applications for the 11 open seats on the OHP Bridge Advisory Committee (OBAC). These applications showed the broad community interest in the committee’s work. OHA is pleased to announce the first OBAC members. They bring a wide range of perspectives and lived experiences to this work:
- Debbie Cabrales, Centro de Servicios Para Campesinos
- Mike Durbin, JD, Aviva Health
- Jonathan Hall, DMD, Neighborhood Health Center
- Angelica Herrejon-Cortez, CHW, East County Community Health
- Ranisha Isom, IEPS Program Manager, Project Access NOW
- Nora Leibowitz, MPP, CareOregon
- Michelle Rasmussen, MD, MHA, Salem Health Hospitals & Clinics
- Askina Sharif, MHA, African Youth and Community Organization
- Nathan Smith, LCSW, Stonewall Behavioral Health and Mental Wellness
- Brandon Tupper, Klamath Tribal Health & Family Services
- Kelli Tevet, community member
OBAC member terms will eventually be two years. OHA will stagger initial terms to ensure a sustainable, effective rotation of members. Members can serve a total of two terms. Committee members will select co-chairs at the first meeting. The first meeting will be October 16 from 10 a.m. to noon over Zoom.
There were many qualified applicants. OHA unfortunately could not select them all for the inaugural committee. But there will still be many ways for the public to engage with OHA about OHP Bridge implementation. OHA looks forward to working with the OBAC to accomplish this goal.
About Us
Appointed by OHA, the OHP Bridge Advisory Committee (OBAC) will help guide the new
OHP Bridge benefit package. The committee's goal is to create a space for OHP Bridge members, advocates, partners and administrators to inform OHP Bridge operations. The committee will provide recommendations to OHA and Oregon Department of Human Services.
