Optum Change Healthcare (CHC), a company that provides services to health care insurers and pharmacies nationwide, experienced a cybersecurity issue on Feb. 21, 2024.
- The company reported that some of their services have been turned off while they investigate. Additional information is available on the

- At this time, although there have been no reports of Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members impacted, anyone concerned about their personal data can contact Optum’s call center (1-866-262-5342) or check their website to get more information and details about protection resources.
- Providers may also apply for temporary funding assistance on the CHC website.
The State of Oregon is aware of the third-party cybersecurity incident involving Change Healthcare, and does not have oversight authority over CHC regarding their cybersecurity event. For Medicare providers: On March 9, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) made available Change Healthcare/Optum Payment Disruption (CHOPD) accelerated payments to Part A providers and advance payments to Part B suppliers experiencing claims disruptions as a result of the Incident. Payments through the CMS Accelerated and Advance Payment Program for CHOPD will end July 12, 2024.

Were state or OHA servers or databases breached due to this incident?
No. Optum CHC has not notified the State of Oregon, OHA and Oregon Department of Human Services of any data being compromised. We are also not seeing any indication of a compromise to networks, systems or data.
