What is HITOC?
HITOC members are responsible for setting health IT strategies that support Oregon's health system transformation and
health equity goals and improve the health system. HITOC has recently gone through a several year process to develop Oregon's Strategic Plan for Health IT for the next 5 years. Their draft vision is that health IT empowers individuals and communities to reach their full health potential and well-being.
The work of HITOC's Strategic Plan applies to patients and consumers, providers and clinic staff, community-based organizations (CBOs), hospitals, health systems, coordinated care organizations (CCOs) and health insurance companies, technology partners, state agencies, and more. Visit
HITOC's Strategic Plan website to learn more. Additionally, HITOC is responsible for making policy recommendations, assessing the health IT landscape, and providing programmatic oversight. HITOC reports to the Oregon Health Policy Board, and the Board approves HITOC's membership.
Who we're looking for:
Candidates should have strong lived and professional experience with health IT and how it impacts people in Oregon. Ideal candidates are committed to eliminating health inequities and ensuring health system transformation efforts are supported by health IT.

The Oregon Health Policy Board is committed to ensuring all committees reflect the racial, ethnic, language, disability status, gender identity, sexual orientation, and geographic diversity of Oregonians. HITOC members represent a broad range of people and organizations that are impacted by health information technology, including consumers, consumer/patient advocates, providers, hospitals, health plans, coordinated care organizations (CCOs), oral health providers, behavioral health providers, and community-based organizations. HITOC members represent organizations that use a wide array of health IT tools and systems.
HITOC members serve terms of up to three years and can be reappointed when their term ends. Reappointment is at the discretion of the member, the HITOC Chairs, and the Board.

HITOC meetings page for the exact schedule). Most meetings are virtual, and members can join online or via phone. HITOC meets in person approximately once per year with an option to join virtually.
