Leaders

Digital accessibility is equally as important as information security. And just like information security, digital accessibility is a collective effort. Achieving digital accessibility under federal law and agency policy will require participation from every division. It will also require support from leadership at all levels.

Your Responsibilities

  • Champion accessibility and articulate goals and responsibilities.
  • Encourage cultural awareness, appreciation, sensitivity, and support for digital accessibility and people with disabilities.
  • Consider digital accessibility when making budgetary decisions.
  • Ensure that appropriate training and tools are made available to staff and that accessibility is emphasized in hiring practices.
  • Leaders at the division and unit level should ensure that digital assets are accounted for and contribute to an agency plan for archiving and remediating content.
