If you need information on obtaining a divorce, visit:

If you have already dissolved your marriage or ORDP and would like to order a vital records certificate:

The state Vital Records office issues a document called a Record of Dissolution of Marriage, Annulment or Registered Domestic Partnership Certificate. Divorce decrees, both certified and uncertified, are available from the county court that granted the divorce. A Record of Dissolution of Marriage, Annulment or Registered Domestic Partnership Certificate does not have all the information contained in the decree but may be used as proof of divorce.

In some cases, a court may have approved a divorce order, but the record has not yet been completed or filed. If you order a certificate and the state has not yet received your information from the county circuit court, the issuance will be delayed until court staff create the record of dissolution and file it.

More Information:

Under Oregon law, county courts have primary responsibility for approving dissolution of marriage or dissolution of Oregon Registered Domestic Partnership (ORDP) judgments (divorce decrees). When a divorce judgment is approved by a judge, a second form called a dissolution of marriage/ORDP certificate (divorce certificate) is signed by the court clerk and forwarded to the State Vital Records Office for filing, if the certificate form was filled out and submitted with the divorce judgment to the court.

All requests to change an Oregon divorce certificate must be approved by the county court that approved the divorce judgment.
