About
This project is part of our strategy to improve accessibility by correcting non-ADA complaint curb ramps and signalized intersections on state highway segments in the communities of Sisters and Bend.
The project will enhance accessibility, safety, and connectivity of pedestrian crossings at both signalized and non-signalized intersections and at mid-block crossings by upgrading existing curb ramps, altering pedestrian signals, and constructing missing curb ramps.
Improvements will upgrade 55 curb ramps at 10 locations on OR126/U.S. 26 in Sisters. In Bend, the project will improve 96 curb ramps at 13 signalized and non-signalized intersection locations along U.S. 97/U.S. 20. Signalized locations will include alterations to the pedestrian pushbuttons as needed for ADA compliance. The project will mitigate a total of approximately 151 curb ramps.
