Northbound I-5: Santiam Overflow Bridge Repairs

Construction Phase

Region 2: Willamette Valley and Northwest Oregon (Jefferson, Marion)


​​​​We're replacing the pavement on the bridge and installing new bridge railing to meet current safety standards. ​​

You can expect single lane closures and delays with reduced speed of 55 mph through the work zone.

Construction Impacts

  • Crews working Sunday night through Friday morning from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Single lane closures.
  • Reduced speed of 55 mph through the work zone.

enlarged project map iconThis bridge was built in 1994. The driving surface is cracking and in need of repair. 

With this project, we plan to: 

  • Repave the bridge. 

  • Install new bridge rails.

  • Replace joint seals.

  • Grind and repave the road right before and after the bridge.

  • Replace the existing guardrail.

  • Apply new permanent striping.
