Pavement Marking Plans
Stamped pavement marking plans are required for any project or maintenance activity in which the existing marking configuration will be modified. Plans are encouraged for those projects or maintenance work that includes replacement of existing markings, such as chip seal projects. Creating a pavement marking plan will:
- Ensure that the pavement marking on a project conforms to current standards;
- Aid field personnel during construction;
- Lessen the chance for installation errors;
- Aid the project designer in developing the bid item list and enable a more accurate cost estimate; and
- Support project documentation requirements and capture the decisions of the Engineer of Record.
