Westside Multimodal Improvements Study

The Westside Multimodal Improvements Study (WMIS) process collaboratively identified the transportation issues in the Westside Corridor, centered on US26, and identified multimodal investments that would address these issues to support the regional economy and accommodate future growth in a socially equitable and environmentally sustainable way. The corridor and study area are home to one of Oregon's major economic centers. The study engaged cities, counties, business representatives, and community-based organizations within the study area. More than 80 potential multimodal, strategic, and technology investment options were evaluated.

Purpose

The Westside Multimodal Improvements Study will identify investments to create equitable corridor solutions that:

Improve access to employment, educational and commercial centers.
Improve safety and mobility throughout the westside corridor for all types of travelers.
Improve connections between high employment and residential areas.
Improve connections between agricultural freight areas and distribution centers.
Support future household and economic growth projected in the corridor.
Support regional and statewide climate goals.

Schedule

Throughout 2022 and early 2023, we'll be reaching out to the community to understand your thoughts, concerns, and ideas for the future.

ODOT and Metro will bring together stakeholders during the study to discuss ideas, share input, and make recommendations.
