The Office of Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) periodically offers funding opportunities for projects and initiatives that support Oregonians. 

Listed below are opportunities that are either active or will soon be introduced. ​The ODHS Office of Aging and People with Disabilities wants to share information about a Request for Grant Applications (RFGA) for those interested in creating Adult Day Service (ADS) programs in Oregon.  Granting opportunities are available to applicants for start-up costs, building preparation or modification costs, front-end staffing and other related costs as incentive to expand into areas not currently being served by an ADS center.  More information about this opportunity is available on OregonBuys, which is the system through which applicants can view and download the RFGA. ​ODHS has provided funding for the Oregon Center for Nursing RN Well-being Project​, which is extending a $50,000 grant opportunity for ten long-term care (LTC) organizations. The funds must be used to reduce workplace stressors on nurses and nurse support staff in LTC settings for older adults and/or people with disabilities. LTC includes home and community-based settings, residential care, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing facilities.

No grant writing experience is required, and guidance is available.

The ODHS Office of Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) recognizes the essential role of community-based organizations in community-led, culturally, and linguistically responsive case management and advocacy. APD acknowledges that there is a need for culturally responsive services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Oregonians when trying to navigate health, legal, education and other public services. APD recognizes that organizations staffed with, and directed by, people with cultural and linguistic knowledge, sensitivity, and lived-experiences are critically important to provide culturally-responsive services that will meet these needs. This Request for Proposals seeks to create opportunities for one or more nonprofit organizations to provide accessible case management and advocacy services for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Oregon residents.

The ODHS Office of Aging and People with Disabilities is seeking proposals for a study to be conducted to ascertain long-term care provider wages and related costs in providing long term care services to consumers. The Wage and Cost Study of Long Term Care Providers shall involve collection of various types of data acquired directly from long-term care provider records regarding services provided to consumers utilizing direct care workers. The result of study data collected shall be included in periodic and final reports.

The Office of Aging and People with Disabilities' Innovation Fund supports innovative projects that improve services for older adults and people with disabilities. APD has a total of $3 million to support innovative projects, with at least $2 million designated for projects focused on equity. Equity focused projects may include those serving communities and groups that have experienced barriers in accessing services and supports. Successful projects will be funded through a Request for Grant Proposals competitive process managed by the Office of Contr​acts and Procurement.
