At the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS), our mission is to support the well-being, safety and independence of people in Oregon. We provide direct services that protect, empower, respect choice and preserve dignity for nearly 1.5 million people throughout the state. Our community of team members work across six departments:

How to apply

1 - Search

Visit the Oregon Job Opportunities website and use the dropdown menus to filter results and find the right job for you. Hint: click “More” to find the Job Family submenu that lets you filter by job type.

2 - Assessment

When we receive applications, we review them for education, experience, abilities and knowledge relevant to the role. Get yours ready by making sure it’s clear and reflects the qualifications listed in the job description.

3 - Apply

Once you’ve applied, the hiring process can take several weeks as our recruiters and hiring managers review all of the applications. If yours is selected, you’ll receive a phone interview first.

Ali

Ali shares that there is not one day at work where he doesn’t leave with his cup a little fuller. No matter what is happening in the world, he feels hopeful knowing he and his team play a role in supporting the lives of Oregonians. As a manager he’s looking for people who lead with compassion, empathy, curiosity, and who can handle stress knowing that there are many resources available at ODHS. He leads the refugee and immigrant equity resource group—one of many ways the agency supports employees, especially those who are historically marginalized or don’t always feel represented by the dominant culture.

Tim

As a person with a learning disability, Tim is candid about the challenges that come with his role. But working as part of ODHS, he’s emphatic about how supported and uplifted he feels by ODHS’ focus on supporting the needs of both clients and staff.
