Permitted Movement During an FAD Outbreak

During a disease outbreak, movement permits for susceptible animals and animal products may be issued by Regulatory Officials based on the risk posed by the particular movement. Moving animals/products from premises in a disease Control Area is not without risk of disease spread via the truck, driver, and animals/products.

Regulatory Officials will determine and communicate the exact permit requirements for animals and animal products during an outbreak. Producers should be prepared to meet the requirements in the general commodity movement guidance documents below prior to requesting a movement permit.
