Disciplinary Supervision

Disciplinary supervision is a remediation requirement that results from Board discipline of a licensee.  The supervision requires the supervisor and licensee to focus on areas where the supervisee has experienced problems. These areas could include maintaining appropriate boundaries, conflict of interest, informed consent in assessments, and recordkeeping.

Disciplinary Supervisor Resource List

Coming Soon!

WHO: To qualify for placement on the List, a Board licensee (LPC or LMFT) must be a candidate or approved supervisor on the supervisor registry pursuant to OAR 833-130-0040 or OAR 833-130-0050.

WHAT: The Disciplinary Supervisor list is an option for licensees interested in serving as a disciplinary supervisors to licensees and registered associates who are mandated to complete supervision as part of a Board order.  It serves as a resource for those seeking a disciplinary supervisor.

WHERE: Supervisors request placement on the list when they apply to be on the Supervisor Registry- via the Licensee Portal (login and click "Supervisor Registry Application" from the left-side menu).  Those already on the Registry will need to submit a new registry application that includes the disciplinary supervisor list request and competencies related to disciplinary supervision.  Respondents may search the Online License Search, and select the "only show disciplinary supervisor list" option.

WHEN: This option has been approved by the Board and is under development by our licensing system contractor.  We will announce when it goes live.

WHY: This is a resource provided by the Board to facilitate disciplinary supervision for effective remedial outcomes.  Placement on the List does not automatically qualify any supervisor to provide supervision to any respondent.
