Planned Giving

My deceased wife used this program for the last fourteen years or so, after I found the program for her on the Internet. She told me multiple times that it was one of the BEST things I have ever done for her! I hope many more people, in years to come, are able to utilize your resources. Thank you! Reading was one of her favorite things to do her entire life!

Creating a Legacy for the Talking Book & Braille Library

In 1988, Thomas Price of Grants Pass, Oregon, left a large portion of his estate to the Talking Book and Braille Library in loving memory of his wife Irene, who enjoyed the library throughout her lifetime. Thomas’ bequest made it possible to establish the Talking Book and Braille Library’s endowment fund. Since then, many other visionary individuals, through their estate gifts to the endowment fund, have helped ensure future Oregonians with print-impairments will continue to enjoy this special library meant just for them.

If you would like to include the Talking Book and Braille Library in your estate plan, here is some useful information to help you:

  • Legal name: State Library of Oregon – Talking Book and Braille Library
  • Legal address: 250 Winter St NE, Salem, OR 97306
  • EIN (tax ID): 93-6001773
  • Example language (please consult a financial advisory or attorney): “I hereby give and bequeath ____________ (a specific amount or a percentage of the residue of my estate) to the State Library of Oregon – Talking Book and Braille Library whose legal address is 250 Winter St NE, Salem Oregon 97306, tax ID 93-6001773, for such purposes as the Talking Book and Braille Library shall determine.”

The Talking Book and Braille Library honors and recognizes the generosity and vision of users, as well as their family and friends, who have chosen to leave a legacy through their estates or other deferred gifts.
