The password for your BARD account
CANNOT be reset through the BARD Mobile app.
- The password reset process can
ONLY be completed through the
BARD website.
- Contact the library at 800-452-0292 or
talkingbooks.info@state.or.us to say you need your BARD account password reset.
- Library staff will reset your BARD account password. When your password is reset your will receive an email with a temporary password and a link to the BARD website.
- Each temporary password can only be used ONCE.
- The temporary password is good for one (1) week.
- Copy the temporary password and click the link in the email to open the
BARD website.
- Enter your email address and the temporary password from the password reset email.
- Click the LOGIN button.
DO NOT click the "Reset your BARD password here" link. That link is to start the process; you are already past that step if you have a temporary password.
- When you log into BARD with a temporary password the system will automatically prompt you create a permanent password. The requirements for your permanent password are listed at the top of the page.
- Enter and re-enter a new permanent password that complies with the requirements.
- Select the Change password button.
- A message will appear indicating the password setup was successful.
- If an error message appears, refresh the page.
- If you are still unable to log into BARD, contact the library.
- Now you can go back to the BARD Mobile app and log in using your email address as your username and the new permanent password you just successfully created.
- If you use the BARD Mobile app on multiple devices you will need to log into each one separately.
- We recommend opening the BARD Mobile app at least once a month to keep your BARD account active.
For people logging into BARD on a computer to download books.

We recommend logging into the BARD website at least once a month to keep your BARD account active. If there is no activity on your BARD account for over 6 months the system will automatically suspend the BARD account.
