The mission of the Statewide Interoperability Program is to serve the people of Oregon by supporting the
Statewide Interoperability Executive Council (SIEC), state agencies, tribal governments, emergency managers, and those providing public safety services throughout the state in achieving seamless, interoperable, and resilient emergency communications. The primary objective of the program is to implement goals and objectives outlined in the Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan (SCIP).
The Program works to improve interoperability across the emergency communications ecosystem including 911 and dispatch services, public safety land mobile radio broadband, and alerts and warnings. Initiatives guided by Statewide Interoperability include:
- All-Hazards Communication Unit Program.
- OR-Alert, Oregon’s statewide emergency alerting system.
- Oregon’s Tactical Interoperable Communications Field Operations Guide (TIC-FOG).
- Annual Radio and Activities and Discussions on Interoperability in Oregon (RADIO) Conference.
Program staff also support emergency communications response efforts during times of emergency through the State’s Emergency Coordination Center.
