DEQ, in collaboration with Klamath County, created an advisory committee to review strategies to maintain and continue to reduce fine particulate matter (PM2.5) emissions to maintain the attainment status of Klamath Falls with the PM2.5 standard. The committee will review control and contingency measures and issue a report to the Board of Klamath County Commissioners and DEQ to be incorporated in a maintenance plan. At the end of this process, DEQ will propose rules and develop a PM2.5 redesignation request and maintenance plan for consideration by the Oregon Environmental Quality Commission and EPA.
