Secretary of State received ex officio powers as insurance commissioner.
State Banking Board created.
Insurance commissioner's duties transferred from Secretary of State to newly created Department of Insurance.
SIAC created to regulate workplace safety and health.
Corporation Department created to regulate investment companies and stock brokers.
Department of Commerce created with broad regulatory powers. Original entities included Banking Division, Corporations Division, Insurance Division, and Real Estate Division.
Functions of the commission were split into the Workmen's (later Workers') Compensation Board and the State Compensation Department, the forerunner of the State Accident Insurance Fund (SAIF) and SAIF Corporation.
Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA) created.
Senate Bill 73 established statewide uniform building code and created Building Codes Division (BCD) under the Department of Commerce.

All entities within DIF merged with the Building Codes Agency and the Appraiser Certification and Licensing Board to form DCBS. The Appraiser Certification and Licensing Board is now its own agency.
Department of Energy became Office of Energy within DCBS.
Office of Energy removed from DCBS and made a separate agency.
Office of Minority, Women, and Emerging Small Business moved to Business Oregon.
Oregon Medical Insurance Pool moved to Oregon Health Authority.
Fiscal and Business Services and Information Management Division merged to form Central Services Division.
Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace, formerly Cover Oregon, joined DCBS.
Division of Finance and Corporate Securities and Insurance Division merged to form Division of Financial Regulation.
SHIBA Program moved to Oregon Department of Human Services.
Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace moved to Oregon Health Authority.
