Drinking Water Test Results

DAS Operations hired a vendor to test water quality of all faucets and fountains in DAS-owned buildings in 2016. Media accounts of lead-tainted drinking water in public buildings urged this action.

PBS Engineering and Environmental collected water samples based on EPA Guidelines, and gave DAS a report for each building. Test result revealed that only four faucets in three buildings had higher lead levels: two in Mahonia Hall, one in the Department of Revenue building and one in the Portland State Office building. DAS replaced all four faucets and retested the water in each faucet.
