The Classification and Compensation unit is responsible for maintaining the state's compensation plan for approximately 40,000 employees in classified, unclassified, and management service positions. Public Employee Retirement System (PERS) members in the executive branch (except AEE and AFSCME Parole & Probation) will get a 6.95% base salary increase and will pay a 6% employee contribution to PERS. Employees who are not yet PERS members will also get the 6.95% pay increase and start the 6% contribution when they join PERS.
