ASCENT Services


Visionary Oregon state leaders sponsor the ASCENT Leadership Program. Sponsors enjoy additional organizational developmental services and workshops at no cost. Services include 1:1 executive coaching, management consulting, transition workshops, and customized leadership workshops and development strategies. Non-sponsoring agencies can access these services upon request, when capacity is available, at an affordable cost.

 

Coaching is an effective method to increase effectiveness, accomplish goals, and improve relationships. ASCENT ​has experienced and credentialed coaches to support leadership growth and transition.

Coaching is not advice, consulting, or counseling. Coaching may address specific work or personal projects, life balance, organizational goals, or general conditions in your professional or personal life.

The client sets the agenda for the coaching conversations. The coach is akin to a thinking partner, someone outside your system who can be counted on to be honest and straightforward, to ask clarifying questions, and to make empowering requests. The purpose of the coaching engagement is to provide a relationship and environment where you are supported in making empowered choices and achieving your desired outcomes and goals.​

These services can be used to design your organizational development plan and address the real-time opportunities facing your agency. Consulting services can help prioritize and sort through the different ASCENT programs and services available to your agency. 

Transition Workshop
Are you on-boarding a new administrator?

Consider ASCENT's Transition Workshop. This workshop is designed for executive and senior management levels. It's purpose is to maximize the opportunities and reduce the down-time when on-boarding a new leader. This workshop brings explicit discussion and mutual exploration of what work life could be like with the new leader.

Leadership transition can be experienced as long or short, constructive or destructive, depending on how it is handled. Two things are certain:​
  1. It is never trivial.
  2. It is never instantaneous.

Chapters Workshop
Have a team or group stuck or lacking effectiveness?

Consider ASCENT's Chapters Workshop. This one day workshop is designed to support change through honoring and naming the influences of the past and articulating the desired future chapter. Chapters answers the question "what is the story of this team?" with an eye towards honoring all that has come before a major transition and provide a level of closure. It concludes with vision work to create the new desired future state.

  • What are the unintended impacts being created within the organization and outside with stakeholders?​

ASCENT can undertake strategies and workshop design to support transformational leadership for sponsoring agencies at no additional cost and for non-sponsors at an affordable cost.

Example topics include; empowerment, feedback, trust, values clarification, and 360 group reports. This service has proved to be a helpful compliment to other agency efforts to improve leadership excellence. These workshops can be delivered to small groups, intact teams, or entire sections and/or divisions.


Authentic Leader
Reserved for senior and executive level leaders, ASCENT offers an Authentic Leader workshop which is designed to help leaders accurately understand their current state of leadership, and chart their own unique developmental journey.
