2025 Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy Renewal Open
The license renewal period is now open for Registered Dental Hygienists and Dental Therapists with a September 30, 2025 expiration date. It is important to ensure that all permits and endorsements are showing on your license after renewal. If you want to remove a permit or have any questions about your renewal, please email information@obd.oregon.gov for assistance.
Oregon Wellness Program
The Oregon Wellness Program ensures licensees (dentists, registered dental hygienists, and dental therapists) within the state of Oregon have access to mental health support that is non-reported, urgently available, and complimentary.
OWP contracts with licensed and credentialed mental health providers, who each have a minimum of five years professional experience providing services to health care professionals.
OWP affiliated providers offer:
- Up to three complimentary sessions (a one-time benefit that can be spread across multiple years)
- Appointments are generally available within three business days
- Care without a “paper trail” or reporting to insurance or professional boards
July 1, 2025 Rule Changes
At the June 13, 2025 Board meeting, the Board voted to approve
temporary rule changes to OAR 818-001-0087, OAR 818-042-0080, OAR 818-042-0110
and OAR 818-042-0113 as presented to be effective July 1, 2025.
Health Professionals' Services Program (HPSP)
At the June 14, 2024 Board meeting, the Board voted to withdraw from HPSP effective July 1, 2025, unless funding is available from other sources, and to make plans for continued care for licensees in the program.
Beware of Scam Phone Calls
The OBD has been notified of scam phone calls to licensees. Please know that OBD staff will not be calling from the 971-673-3200 phone number and will not demand information over the phone. If you receive a scam call, hang up the phone immediately. If you suspect you have been called by a scammer and have questions, please email us at information@obd.oregon.gov
