Personal Records Request

Public Records Law

Under Oregon's Public Records Law, the public has the right to inspect and copy certain public records. Examples of public records include data, meeting recordings, correspondence, investigations, etc.

Policy and Fees

Public Records Policy
The Board strives to keep the public safe through appropriate levels of monitoring and treatment for those found guilty except for insanity, and to do so transparently. Any interested party may submit a request form for a selected record. The Board responds to public record requests as soon as is practicable and without unreasonable delay. Depending on the circumstances, the agency might charge for each request. Please be as specific as possible about which records you would like to see, including approximate dates if possible. If your request is unclear, the Board might ask for further clarification. Most Board materials have ten year retention schedules; the Board keeps patient records until 25 years after the patient dies. Requests requiring document searches will take longer.

Upon receipt of any record request, staff will reach out with any further questions. If you have any questions please contact the board's public records officer Laura O'Meara laura.omeara@psrb.oregon.gov
