All youth who have not yet completed a GED or high school diploma are required to attend school. Vocational training and work crews are also available to youth on a part-time basis. If students are meeting expectations in the classroom, they have the opportunity to go to work on Thursday and/or Friday and earn elective credit in work experience.
Riverbend High School functions similar to an alternative school with 2 full-time, certified teachers. Although they are attending high school in a closed-custody facility, Riverbend students are held to the same academic requirements as their counterparts in public high school.
Upon graduation, students can take college courses online via community college or university. Specific courses are also available as dual high school/college credit courses through partnerships with InterMountain Online.
