Business and Operations

There are lots of ways to make a difference in the lives of youth and help keep our communities safe. At OYA, you can contribute in Development Services, Business Services, and the Director’s Office. 







​Besides guiding OYA as a whole, the Director's Office oversees a broad set of functions, including:

  • government and legislative relations
  • tribal relations
  • professional standards
  • research
  • communications

It also oversees the agency's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative, manages youth through the Interstate Compact for Juveniles, and the agency's compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act.

There are many opportunities in this unit for people with a variety of skills. It's responsible for program development, coordination, and training. More specifically, it oversees:

  • OYA's Positive Human Development approach and Youth Reformation System​
  • behavioral health and correctional treatment for youth
  • educational and vocational services for youth in secure custody
  • the Office of Inclusion and Intercultural Relations (OIIR), which provides direct services to youth and families
  • agencywide training and development
  • family engagement
