Let's Go Boating Grant

The "Let's Go Boating" Grant provides funding for new, unique, or innovative ideas or programs to promote safe boating and increase youth involvement in recreational boating.

Take Advantage of the "Let's Go Boating" Grant

• Funding amounts available: $500 minimum to $2,500 maximum
• Please read the “Let’s Go Boating” Grant Program Manual for further details.
• Each proposal needs a separate application.
• Please review the application carefully and answer all questions completely. Points are awarded based on your answers.
Applications should be submitted by your official contact for your submitted program or project proposal.

For the Federal Fiscal Year October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025, the application packet must be postmarked on or before the deadline of:
5:00 pm
December 31, 2024

Proof of required 501(c)(4) nonprofit IRS tax filing status must be in effect before the application deadline and attached to the application. Late submissions will not be accepted.

  • ​Nonprofit corporations or organizations (proof of required 501(c)(3) nonprofit IRS tax filing status must be in effect before the application deadline and attached to the application).
    ​​
  • Civic Leagues and Social Welfare Organizations, specifically Volunteer Fire Departments.

The following are eligible for funding but are not limited to:

1. Boats (canoes, kayaks, small sailboats, small boats, etc.)

2. Printing

3. Teaching aids

4.  Boating safety equipment (life jackets and associated safety equipment),

5.  Publication of guides, manuals, brochures, etc..

6.  Audiovisual aids (laptop computer, PowerPoint projector)

7.  Jr. Boater Kit (raft and boating safety equipment)

8.  ​Life Jacket Loaner Kiosk (materials for construction and sign.

Applicants are encouraged to seek additional funding and support from other sources and to identify these other sources in their application.  Although a match of dollars or in-kind labor is not a requirement, it is considered a positive asset during the evaluation and scoring process.  The match must be from non-federal funds; participants cannot match federal funds with federal funds.
