To rise to the challenge wildfire poses to Oregonians, several state agencies are working in coordination with local and federal partners to tackle the issue. Oregon State Fire Marshal's Wildfire Initiatives
To combat the growing wildfire risk to Oregon communities, the Oregon State Fire Marshal supports three wildfire initiatives to prepare and protect people from wildfire. Additionally, the agency has been investing in boosting response and preparedness programs through one-time funding provided by Senate Bill 762.

Solving the issue of wildfire will take sustained efforts by government and communities. Preparedness and response efforts need to support the people of Oregon. There are several things people can do at the ground level to improve their home's resilience to wildfire and help their communities.
Changing how we interact with fire can help even before a fire sparks. The OSFM continues to host educational webinars to help people reduce their wildfire risk. We also offer wildfire prevention tips and training opportunities to move us all toward the end goal of a safer Oregon.
