Fire & Life Safety Division Compliance surveyors conduct Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) certification surveys for federally funded health care facilities in coordination with the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and Oregon Health Authority (OHA) in Oregon's hospitals, long term care facilities, ambulatory surgical centers, hospices and end stage renal disease (dialysis) facilities according
to schedules set by ODHS and OHA.
In addition, facilities seeking licensure through the State of Oregon per ORS 441.015 and certification through the CMS receive NFPA 101 Fire Life Safety (FLS) Code plans review to verify compliance at both the plan review phase as well as the site inspection at the completion of work.
