That is what is being brought up many positions are being over worked. 14:00:28 From Daniel Page (OHA) : https://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oessrci.htm https://blog.dol.gov/2023/01/24/new-childcare-data-shows-prices-are-untenable-for-families 14:00:53 From ShyraMerila : That seems low :) 14:02:34 From Lindy Bonser : I have been saying that we need to do this in Oregon 14:03:03 From Daniel Page (OHA) : https://advancecaregivers.org/cnarap/ 14:03:09 From Shari Selander : In a small way, I did that for our traveling clinicians. 14:03:42 From Chris Ligterink : 👍 Thank you 14:05:29 From ShyraMerila : AFSCME offers BH apprenticeship programs 14:05:39 From Daniel Page (OHA) : https://familymedicine.uw.edu/chws/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2022/11/WA-BH-Education-Training-Assess-FR-2022.pdf https://familymedicine.uw.edu/chws/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2020/11/Behavioral-Health-Workforce-Assessment-2020.pdf 14:06:56 From Chris Ligterink : Current Healthcare workers are a vast reservoir of untaped labor resources that could be accessed with apprentice programs. 14:08:10 From Chris Ligterink : Thanks Shyra Merila 14:28:48 From Kelli Bosak (she/her) : Insurance is surely not reimbursing for preceptorship… 14:31:53 From ShyraMerila : Do we have organizations in this country that do educational assessments to determine equivalency? Canadians do that as part of their immigration process. 14:35:28 From Diane Benavides Wille (she/her/hers) : Shyra, I have seen this assessment happen at the regulatory board level. For example, I have a supervisor right now who is fighting with the OBLPCT who is not accepting the education of this individual which occurred in South Africa. MHACBP certified this individual as a QMHP and A CADC III but the OBLPCT is saying he is not qualified to apply for licensure, even after he took classes they recommended and threatened him with "consequences" if he continued to fight the board. 14:37:06 From ShyraMerila : Wow that just seems so out of alignment with our equity goals and workforce expansion goals. So unfortunate. 14:37:55 From Tim Nesbitt (he/him) OHA : Agreed, Diane and Shyra. 14:40:34 From Cheryl Cohen (she/her) : Oregon has a huge lack of nursing programs compared to the needs of our state, and compared to nursing programs in other states. Expanding nursing program capacity is a main focus of Future Ready Oregon. 14:45:26 From Tim Nesbitt (he/him) OHA : Such great discussion/questions! We will be moving on to our next agenda item after Jenn's comment/question. 14:47:18 From Bianca K Frogner : Thank you for having me here today! I look forward to seeing the great work you all do! 14:47:26 From Cheryl Cohen (she/her) : Thank you Dr. Frogner! 14:47:52 From Tony : Thank you Dr Frogner! 14:48:28 From Lindy Bonser : Thank you Dr Frogner❤️ 14:48:39 From Vitalis Ogbeama- OHA : Thank you very much Dr. Frogner for the presentation , really appreciate you 14:49:10 From Clark Hazel (they/them) : Thank you for the presentation and information! 14:51:06 From Deanna Cor : From my perspective, this makes sense to me. I do appreciate holding us each accountable. Given that I have been on sabbatical and am returning to work full time in Fall, I will have a time conflict with teaching two classes overlapping this standing meeting. While I don’t want to step away from this group, I also don’t want to hinder its progress. Maybe someone from OHA can reach out and let me know next steps? 14:55:43 From Cheryl Cohen (she/her) : I really think we should make a policy recommendation about licensure alignment in the first report. 14:55:56 From Lucy Mendoza : Thank you. 14:56:06 From Kelli Bosak (she/her) : I agree with Cheryl. 14:56:09 From Kelli Bosak (she/her) : Thank you everyone!
