Welcome and Getting Started

This Technical Resource Center (TRC) is intended to help Oregon’s transportation agencies find resources for public transportation planning, technology and training, including implementation resources for Oregon Public Transportation Plan (OPTP) goals, policies and strategies. The TRC was created through HB2017, Keep Oregon Moving.  The tools and resources offered through the TRC are guided by the OPTP, which establishes the statewide vision for Oregon public transportation. The Public Transportation Division designed the TRC to help Oregon’s transportation agencies find resources for public transportation planning and implementation that they can adopt.

Using this resource: 

• OPTP Implementation – understand the statewide guiding policies and review public transportation activities that are in alignment with the OPTP.
• Public Transportation Resources – go deeper with reports, white papers and articles that provide analysis on complex and emerging topics in public transportation.
• Stay Connected – reach out to us at the TRC if you have questions. 

We will continually update these resources and we encourage feedback.

The Oregon Public Transportation Plan (OPTP) provides the statewide policy framework to guide local, regional, and state public transportation investment decisions for the next 20 years. ODOT’s focus is to help agencies move forward with the implementation of the OPTP, which provides a broad work outline for public transportation activities.

This plan acknowledges the changes and trends that will occur over the next two decades (i.e., population growth, new transportation technologies, etc.) and provides a long-term vision for how we create and support a safe, efficient and seamless public transportation system for all Oregonians and visitors to our state. The three key initiatives are:

• Public Transportation Plan Integration - Integrating public transportation plans with other agencies. 
• Regional and Intercity Service - Filling gaps in the statewide transit network.
• Public Transportation Technology - Expanding the use of public transportation technologies.

Working together is critical to achieving the vision and goals of the OPTP. Local and regional agencies are responsible for understanding and planning for transportation and land use priorities of their constituencies.

Remix Transit

Planning platform for Public Transit to design, evaluate, and collaborate transit in one place from a small detour to a full system redesign.  Interested in learning about Remix Transit, reach out to Phil Paulson.

Public Transportation’s P2PX Program addresses challenges and specific topics, fosters long term business relationships and expands network of contacts. Public transit agencies can submit the P2Px Program Request to be a part this knowledge transfer program.
