Other

Region 1: Portland metro and Hood River County (Gresham, Portland, Multnomah)

ODOT is installing bollards at 21 locations along the I-205 Multiuse Path and eight locations along the I-84 Multiuse Path. Bollards are posts used to prevent vehicles from entering the path.

Impacts

Construction Impacts

We anticipate all work completed by June 30.

About

New bollards are posts placed along the trail to prevent vehicles from driving onto the multiuse paths, increasing safety for trail users. Limiting vehicle access is also intended to reduce access for camping and other prohibited activities, such as vandalism of lighting and other electrical systems located along the paths.

Bollards are currently located along other areas of the paths and help maintain access for pedestrians, people who use mobility devices, and cyclists. Emergency services access will be maintained for first responders.

The project area includes:

  • 21 locations on the I-205 Multiuse Path between SE Holgate Boulevard and SE Crystal Springs Boulevard.
  • Eight locations along the I-84 Multiuse Path between NE 122nd Avenue and NE 181st Avenue.
