About

Enlarged project area mapWe're looking at making several highways in northwest Oregon safer whether you ride, drive, walk or roll. The type of safety upgrade we install depends on the location.

Some of the upgrades may include:

  • Median pedestrian islands. These create a safer space for people to wait as they cross one direction of traffic at a time.

  • Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons. These are pedestrian-activated flashing lights alerting drivers that people are crossing ahead.

  • Street lights. This helps make everything more visible for all road users.

  • ADA curb ramps. These make the area more accessible for all.

We're planning to build and will have a better idea about construction schedule and cost as we get further into design.
