About
PavingPaving involved grinding away existing asphalt, repaving, and reinstalling the lane markings and rumble strips in the project area. We also installed a new protective waterproof layer on the Salmon River Bridge to help extend its lifespan.
Shared use path and pedestrian signal
The new shared use path is about 700 feet long on the south side of U.S. 26 and gives people a safe place to bike, walk or roll near Welches Elementary and Welches Middle School. We shifted the existing crosswalk west and installed a new push button-activated pedestrian signal across the highway where the fire station traffic was located.
Accessible curb ramps
New sidewalk curb ramps at both Salmon River Road and Welches Roadl make it safer for people to walk, bike or roll on U.S. 26.
