About

Before this project, the intersection of OR 99 at Theona Drive had higher than normal left-turn crashes. Cars waiting in the previous OR 99 turn lane onto Theona Drive made it harder for drivers to see oncoming traffic as they attempted to turn left to go north on OR 99.

We widened the road approaching the Theona Drive intersection to create additional buffer space. This put more space between the cars turning and the cars continuing in the travel lane. The space between improves sight distance for cars turning left by making it easier to see oncoming traffic.
