About
The 1½-mile section of U.S. Highway 101 through Port Orford was last paved more than a decade ago and is showing signs of rutting and cracking.
This project will resurface the highway from Garrison Slough to Cemetery Loop Road (milepost 300.0-301.5).
All sidewalk curb ramps between Madrona Avenue and Jefferson Street will be upgraded to meet ADA requirements.
Additional pedestrian safety features will be installed at the following U.S. 101 intersections:
- Madrona Avenue: curb extensions, pedestrian flashing beacon, and streetlights.
- 15th Street: curb extensions and streetlights.
- 12th Street: curb extensions, pedestrian refuge and flashing beacon, and streetlights.
- 10th Street: curb extensions and streetlights.
- 8th Street: curb extensions and pedestrian refuge.
- Jackson Street: curb extensions and streetlights.
- Jefferson Street: curb extensions, flashing pedestrian beacon and streetlights.
Crosswalk markings will be installed across U.S. 101 at the following intersections: Madrona Avenue, 15th Street, 12th Street, 10th Street, Jackson Street and Jefferson Street.
A parking area is located at the southeast corner of the U.S. 101 intersection with Harbor Drive. This project will adjust the sidewalks at the east end of the parking area to improve safety.
