Weight-Mile Tax Program Enrollment

Enrollment

Motor carriers are responsible for all tax enrolled vehicles under the account, including leased or rented vehicles. When a carrier will not be operating in Oregon, it is advisable to cancel tax enrollment.

Motor carriers need to enroll in the Oregon Weight-Mile Tax Program if:
  • They have a registered CCD account and enroll all weight-mile tax qualified vehicles under the account and pay the weight-mile tax on a tax report.
  • Are no longer eligible for temporary passes.
To operate on permanent tax enrollment and use Oregon Trucking Online:
  1. Please read our Requirements for Oregon Commercial Registration.
  2. If you are not registered with CCD, call the Commercial Vehicle Tax Service Center at 503-378-6699 Monday through Fridaybetween the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Declare Weights and Establish a Fee Basis

Weight-mile tax is paid on a declared weight basis. The tax declared weight is the heaviest weight the vehicle will operate in a given configuration for the reporting period. Tax declared weights are subject to audit and approval by CCD. Vehicle weight declarations must be filed with CCD before commencing operation at that weight.

Carriers hauling certain commodities or farmers hauling for-hire may elect to pay weight-mile taxes on a flat fee basis. Use the forms below to pay this annual fee on a monthly basis.

Please see our Motor Carrier Registration and Tax Manual for instructions to declare weights and establish a fee basis.
