Noxious Weed Control
The Oregon Department of Agriculture’s Noxious Weed Control Program works to protect Oregon’s environment and economy by identifying, preventing, and managing invasive and harmful plant species. It aims to limit the spread of these noxious weeds through education, regulation, and on-the-ground management efforts

- Displace and compete with native and desirable economic plants
- Impact agricultural, forest economies and resources such as fish, wildlife, recreation, and overall watershed health
- Threaten cultural resources and first foods
- Can contribute to extreme wildfire behavior
Noxious Weed Control Program staff
- Implement early detection and rapid response projects for new invaders
- Promote an intensive biological control program
- Provide assistance to those implementing integrated weed management projects across the state
- Maintain maps for priority listed noxious weeds
- Conduct statewide inventories and surveys
- Deliver education outreach presentations and materials
- Serve as a resource to the Oregon State Weed Board
