An auction market is a place of business where the public may consign livestock to be sold in auction open to public bidding or on a commission basis. Any person, either as owner or lessee, who wishes to operate such a market must get a livestock auction market license from the Oregon Department of Agriculture.
Oregon has seven licensed livestock auction markets:
- Central Oregon Livestock Auction, Inc., Madras
- Eugene Livestock Auction, Inc., Eugene
- Intermountain Livestock, Inc., LaGrande
- Klamath Livestock Auction, Inc., Klamath Falls
- Lebanon Auction Yard, Lebanon
- Northwestern Livestock Commission Co., Hermiston
- Producers Livestock Marketing Assn., Vale
