In her first year in office, Governor Kotek kept her promise to visit every county in the state. The goal of these visits was to build strong, working partnerships across our state. Governor Kotek focused on listening to communities to talk about their hopes, challenges, and how the state can be a partner on housing and homelessness, behavioral health, education, and the issues unique to each county.Use the map below to see highlights from the Governor’s visit to each county.
The Governor traveled to Seaside and Astoria. She toured Hyak Maritime at Tongue Point and Liberty Theatre, walked in downtown Astoria featuring a stop at Raintown Vintage Collective, and participated in a roundtable at CareOregon.
Governor Kotek traveled to Vernonia and St. Helens for community conversations on education, mental health and recovery, and housing and homelessness.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Portland and Gresham for discussions on housing, homelessness, and community violence prevention. They then attended a ground blessing for the future permanent home for Latino Network and the New Year in the Park festival.
Governor Kotek traveled to Hood River. She led a discussion with child care providers about early learning and heard from providers about behavioral health services in the region after touring the Mid-Columbia Center for Living.
Governor Kotek traveled to Hillsboro, Forest Grove, Roy, and Beaverton. She toured the semiconductor fabrication plant at Intel, visited Adelante Mujeres and Duyck Family Farm, and met with local leaders.
Governor Kotek traveled to Tillamook where she held a childcare roundtable with providers, local elected officials, and business leaders at Tillamook Creamery. The Governor also toured Victor Dairy for an in-depth look at one of Tillamook’s dairy farms.
Prior to the inauguration, the Governor-elect and First Lady participated in three small group conversations on mental health and addiction care, early learning, and housing and homelessness.
Governor Kotek and the First Lady traveled to Estacada, Oregon City, Gladstone, and Milwaukie to discuss community development, housing, supporting survivors of domestic violence, transportation, childcare needs, among other topics.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Smith Farms, a family-owned wheat farm, and then toured Sherman County School.
Governor Kotek traveled to The Dalles. She discussed housing and homelessness at the Columbia Gorge Food Bank and toured Pacific Coast Producers to learn about the history of cherries in the region.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Condon and Arlington. They visited some stores on Main Street and then participated in a roundtable conversation about early childhood education. They also toured the Columbia Ridge Landfill, the largest landfill in the Northwest and the largest employer in the county.
Governor Kotek and the First Lady traveled to Boardman to meet with students and early childhood educators, and discuss the need to recruit and retain more teachers. They then held a listening session with residents who have been impacted by water contamination in the Lower Umatilla Basin.
Governor Kotek and the First Lady traveled to Echo, Hermiston, and Pendleton. Their trip focused on issues facing the Latino/a community in the region, flooding from the Umatilla River, affordable housing and homeless services in the area.

Governor Kotek and the First Lady traveled to Enterprise and Joseph to discuss behavioral healthcare in rural communities, community needs for workforce housing, and visit Wallowa Lake State Park.

Governor Kotek and the First Lady traveled to Philomath and Corvallis to discuss career and technical education, advanced manufacturing and the CHIPS Act, and behavioral health and housing.
Governor Kotek traveled to Dallas, Monmouth, and Independence for community conversations on housing and homelessness, behavioral health, and economic development, including a ride on the new MI Trolley.
Governor Kotek traveled to Aumsville, Detroit, Silverton, and Woodburn. She met with local leaders to discuss housing and homelessness, wildfire recovery, and agriculture and natural resources.
The Governor traveled to Albany, Tangent, Shedd, Sweet Home, and Lebanon. She held a roundtable discussion on housing, visited the community carousel in Albany, met with local leaders in Tangent, toured a grass seed farm and low-barrier shelter, and wrapped up the day touring a veterans retirement home.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Culver and Madras. They visited Macy Farms, a carrot seed farm. They also met with Jefferson County leaders and visited the Madras Campus of Central Oregon Community College.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Redmond and Bend. They participated in a Latino Community Engagement meeting, visited the Redmond farmers market, and toured the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch in Bend.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Prineville for a round table discussion on behavioral health, met with city and county leaders, and shared dinner at House Republican Leader Vikki Breese Iverson's ranch.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Mitchell and Fossil. They visited John Day Fossil Beds National Monument where they discussed the unique research and educational value of the monument. In Fossil, they sat down with community leaders at Asher Community Health Care to learn about the health care, emergency response, elder care, and workforce housing needs in the area.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Prairie City and John Day. The Governor signed Senate Bill 955, the AgriStress Suicide Hotline Bill, held a conversation about tourism development, discussed regional issues with local leaders.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Baker City. They visited the Powder River Correctional Facility, toured Baker Technical Institute to learn more about their workforce development program, and visited Betty's Books in downtown Baker City. They also stopped in at Sweet Wife Baker and met owner Jenny Moew, a former professional WNBA and Oregon Ducks basketball player.
The Governor and First Lady visited Springfield, the McKenzie River Valley, Cottage Grove, Veneta, and Eugene. They had discussions on success for underserved youth, wildfire recovery, housing and homelessness, and met with local leaders on other regional topics.
Governor Kotek and the First Lady traveled to Yoncalla and Roseburg to speak with local community members about education and early learning; mental health and recovery; and housing and homelessness.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Bandon and Coos Bay. They met with the Wild Rivers Coast Alliance and their partners, hosted an early education roundtable, and joined a homelessness resources roundtable at The Devereux Center.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Gold Beach and Port Orford. They met with U.S. Forest Service and Coos Forest Protective Association representatives, visit to Gold Beach Book and Art Gallery, and stopped at Port Orford Sustainable Seafood.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Grants Pass. They toured Options for Southern Oregon's crisis resolution center, visited Wildlife Images Rehabilitation and Education Center, and went to Redwood Terrace Assisted Living Community and a discussion with local leaders who serve older Oregonians.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Medford, Ashland, Talent, and Central Point. They met with local leaders, held a roundtable with wildfire survivors and organizations, and toured Rogue Creamery.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Bly and Klamath Falls. They toured Klamath Falls Head Start and held a discussion on early education, met with tribal leaders, and discussed key issues with local elected officials.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Christmas Valley, where they discussed economic development and renewable energy. In Lakeview, they met with local leaders, held a routable discussion on behavioral health, and viewed the Dark Sky sanctuary being proposed for parts of Lake, Harney, and Malheur counties.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Hines and Burns for a roundtable discussion with the High Desert Partnership, breakfast with representatives from the Burns Paiute Tribe, and a meeting with local leaders.
The Governor and First Lady traveled to Ontario, where they met with local elected officials, participated in a conversation about housing and education, and held a roundtable discussion at Treasure Valley Community College on economic development.
