Earthquake and Tsunami Community Disaster Cache Planning Guide

From Oregon OEM and DOGAMI. A Community Disaster Cache is a stock of supplies designed to support a local population in its response to a disaster. Disaster caches take many forms and can be designed to accomplish different purposes. Along the Pacific Northwest (PNW) coast, numerous groups have developed disaster caches in various forms and have lessons to share. The goal of this Planning Guide is to distill such information to assist communities as they prepare for the next great earthquake and tsunami that will strike the PNW coast of Oregon and Washington. This Guide provides a four-step planning process: 1) Design, 2) Implementation, 3) Maintenance, and 4) Deployment, as well as case studies, strategies, templates, and sample budgets and operations plans.

Resilience Guidance for Oregon Hospitals

Hospital decision makers, including leadership, facility managers, emergency planners and other personnel, require practical scientific information and technical guidance on Cascadia disaster preparedness. Tsunami Mitigation Showcase - Newport Oregon Tsunami Safe Haven

This booklet provides information how the City of Newport increased the public safety of its community by successfully completing a tsunami mitigation project. This booklet, telling Newport?s story, is part of a collection, the FEMA Region X Mitigation Showcase, to illustrate different ways in which local communities have leveraged partnerships and collaborated with state and federal partners to complete mitigation projects that address vulnerabilities to earthquakes and/or tsunamis. These narratives describe how project partners worked together to effectively navigate FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance requirements, build political and public support, and describe what lessons were learned throughout the project process. Information provided in each booklet intends to inspire and support other communities that wish to pursue similar mitigation action.
