We cannot prevent a tsunami but we can prepare for one.

Responsible for the forecast and warning program. Liaison between the NWS and our customers. TsunamiReady helps community leaders and emergency managers strengthen their community response to a tsunami. TsunamiReady communities are better prepared to save lives through better planning, education and awareness. We are available for tsunami outreach and education especially as it pertains to the warning system. We are responsible for activating the Emergency Alert System through NOAA Weather Radio and alerting the public of tsunami warnings, advisories, and watches.
